University of Maribor has officially opened a new exhibition titled UMetnost Connected in Creativity, showcasing artistic works as part of its 2026 exhibition cycle.The exhibition, held at the university’s Rectorate atrium, features selected works by artists and faculty members Sabina Šinko and Tadeja Vulc from the Faculty of Education. Their creations highlight a diverse artistic expression that blends puppet theatre performance and musical composition.The opening event also marked the launch of the university’s annual Festival of Science and Art, known as FestUM. Visitors experienced a live musical performance by soprano Martina Burger and pianist Živa Horvat, who presented a piece composed by Tadeja Vulc.University representatives emphasized that artistic creativity plays a vital role in enriching both education and research. By crossing disciplinary boundaries, art fosters innovation, encourages new ideas, and contributes to sustainable social development.The exhibition will remain open to visitors until October 30, 2026, offering a continued opportunity to explore the intersection of art, research, and education within the university environment.
