For the first time, Széchenyi István University is presenting its cutting-edge motorsport and automotive technology at the 40th Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix as a strategic partner of Hungaroring Sport Zrt. Visitors can explore the university’s stand located in the FanZone near Turn 9 between August 1–3.
The university, a leader in motorsport and automotive education and research in Hungary, offers programs such as the Motorsport Engineering master’s degree and specialized training courses. Its reputation is bolstered by its top-tier Formula Student and Shell Eco-marathon teams, its involvement in organizing the Győr Rally and Formula Student Symposium, its active role in e-sports, and its proximity to Europe’s state-of-the-art automotive test track, ZalaZone, through its Zalaegerszeg Innovation Park.
Fans attending the Grand Prix can get a close-up view of the Arrabona Racing Team (ART) student-built race car, test the university’s electric go-kart, try out an e-sports simulator, and learn about its wide range of programs via digital displays. Representatives from the Vehicle Industry Competence Center, the e-sports team, the International Programs and Alumni Center, and ART students will be on-site throughout the event.
“Our presence at the Hungarian Grand Prix highlights not only our educational and research portfolio but also our commitment to driving innovation in both national and international motorsport,” said Dr. Tamás Kolossváry, Head of the Győr Innovation Park. This appearance is part of the strategic cooperation agreement signed with Hungaroring Sport Zrt. in 2023.
