Budapest, April 30 — A Bangladeshi student living in Budapest has reported the loss of a bag containing important personal documents, raising concerns about security in residential buildings near Keleti Station.
The student, who resides near Keleti Railway Station on Fiumei Street, stated that the incident occurred after he returned home from work and discovered that his bag was missing from the building’s garage area. The bag reportedly contained his passport, residence permit, and tax card—documents essential for his legal stay and daily life in Hungary.
After noticing the disappearance, the student asked other residents in the building if they had seen anything suspicious. However, none were able to provide information about the missing bag.
Some residents suggested that unauthorized individuals may have gained access to the building. According to the student and others living there, it is not uncommon for outsiders to observe residents entering the building in order to learn doorbell access codes. Several residents expressed concern that such codes may already be known to people not living in the building.
The loss of these official documents is expected to create significant administrative and financial challenges for the student, as replacing them involves complex procedures and potential costs.
The incident has been reported to the local police, and an investigation is currently underway.
Residents in the area have called for improved building security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
