Portugal | Researchers from the University of Liege and Ghent University have introduced new strategies to improve support for employees experiencing burnout and returning to work. Through the RE Born project, the team developed a structured recovery program and a self assessment tool to monitor the quality of workplace reintegration. The study found that participants who received personalized and multidisciplinary support were able to successfully return to their jobs, with reduced risk of relapse. Researchers also identified key factors for long term recovery, including greater workplace autonomy, meaningful work, and reduced emotional pressure. The findings highlight the need for stronger organizational awareness and better policies to support sustainable mental health recovery in the workplace.
