
Sweden | United Nations and University of Boras have announced a new international collaboration in partnership with Central Saint Martins to develop a sustainable guide uniform collection for the UN headquarters in New York.The initiative brings together design students from the Textile School at the University of Boras and Central Saint Martins, part of University of the Arts London. The project focuses on creating accessories that build on the 2025 collection, which was the first in UN history to integrate sustainability into its design process.Supported by the Paul Frankenius Foundation, the collaboration allows master’s-level students from both institutions to explore circular design, sustainable materials, and responsible production. Selected designs will be produced in 2026 and worn by official guides at the UN headquarters.The partnership was officially announced during an event in New York marking the anniversary of the 2025 collection, which debuted on Earth Day. UN representatives highlighted the importance of creativity and global collaboration in driving sustainable transformation.Each year, more than 200,000 visitors are welcomed by UN guides, making the project a high-visibility platform for showcasing sustainable fashion. The collaboration also strengthens ties between global institutions and leading design schools, offering students real-world experience on an international stage.
