
Poland | The University of Gdansk successfully hosted the 2026 edition of its “Night of Geography” event, bringing together students from secondary schools across the Pomeranian region for a large-scale educational revision session.Organized by the Student Scientific Circle of Geographers, the event took place on 16 April 2026 at the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography. It aimed to support high school students preparing for their final geography exams by offering structured 45-minute thematic sessions covering key parts of the curriculum.This year, around 170 students participated in the program. The initiative, which has been running since 2015, has become a regular academic outreach event connecting the university with schools from cities including Gdansk, Wejherowo, Pruszcz Gdanski, and Tczew.University staff, doctoral researchers, alumni, and student volunteers collaborated to deliver the sessions, ensuring an accessible and engaging revision experience. Organizers emphasized that the event not only helps exam preparation but also promotes interest in geography as a field of study.The event continues to strengthen academic ties between the university and regional schools while encouraging student-led educational initiatives.
