Portugal | The University of Lisbon has officially appointed a new director for its Institute of Social Sciences, marking a significant leadership transition within the institution.On April 23, Rector Luis Ferreira presided over the inauguration ceremony of Sofia Aboim as the new Director of the Institute of Social Sciences University of Lisbon. Her term will last for three years following her election on April 15, 2026.The ceremony was attended by university leadership, including vice-rectors and academic staff, along with researchers and administrative members of the institute. Former director Marina Costa Lobo was also present, highlighting the continuity and importance of the institute’s academic mission.This leadership change is expected to further strengthen the institute’s role in social sciences research and academic development within the university.
