Karel Maráz, archivist at the Archive of Brno University of Technology (VUT) and researcher at the Faculty of Chemistry, presented his research at the International Medieval Congress (IMC) held at the University of Leeds. The IMC, the largest international event for medieval studies, invited 2,700 experts worldwide.
Maráz’s presentation focused on the scientific and pedagogical activities of the Mikulov Piarists in the pre-modern era, exploring their contributions to medieval studies. This marks his second consecutive invitation to the prestigious congress.
The event highlighted opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, including digital medieval studies, workshops applying innovative technologies to historical texts, and engagement between technical universities like VUT and researchers in the humanities. Maráz also secured potential international collaborations with Utrecht University and the Catholic University in Lublin.
