The Hungarian University of Dance celebrates the 50th anniversary of its first folk dance class, originally part of the State Ballet Institute. The milestone honors generations of dancers and educators who have shaped Hungarian folk dance education through artistry, dedication, and a lifelong commitment to learning.
The anniversary event on August 30, 2025, will bring together alumni, students, and faculty to celebrate not only the history of the program but also the values of discipline, precision, and professionalism that continue to guide the university. Legendary instructors such as Katalin Györgyfalvai, Sándor Tímár, Zoltán Kallós, György Martin, and István Molnár played key roles in establishing the artistic and educational foundations celebrated today.
