Denmark | Copenhagen University College is set to host regional entrepreneurship championships on 7 May at Campus Sigurdsgade, bringing together students from across the region to develop real-world solutions to everyday challenges. The event, organized in collaboration with the Danish Foundation for Entrepreneurship, focuses not on business plans but on problem-solving, idea development, and presentation skills. Students are encouraged to identify issues from their practical experiences and propose innovative solutions.Rector Anne Vang Rasmussen emphasized that entrepreneurship is not an optional extra but a core part of professional education. She highlighted that students in fields such as teaching, nursing, and social work are uniquely positioned to create impactful innovations because of their close connection to real-world challenges.Past projects have demonstrated this approach, including initiatives supporting children with school absenteeism and tools designed to help young people with ADHD and autism. These ideas often emerge directly from students’ internships and interactions with communities. The university has also strengthened its focus on innovation by establishing a new Institute for AI and Technology in Education, led by Martin Sønderlev Christensen. The institute aims to integrate technology and innovation into teaching practices and prepare students for future challenges. The championships are part of the broader Innovation District Copenhagen initiative, where educational institutions, businesses, and research environments collaborate to drive practical innovation.
