
Hungary | Professor Dr Márta Görög, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Szeged, has been nominated to serve as Hungary’s next Minister of Justice.The nomination was made by Prime Minister-designate Péter Magyar, recognizing Görög’s long-standing contributions to legal scholarship, higher education, and institutional leadership in Hungary.Professor Görög is a respected legal scholar and currently serves on the Board of the Hungarian Lawyers Association and the Committee on Legal and Political Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. She also leads the Accreditation College of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee, where she works to strengthen quality standards in Hungarian higher education.According to the announcement, her priorities as prospective Justice Minister would include improving the professional quality of legislation, increasing transparency in lawmaking, and encouraging stronger professional and public consultation during the legislative process.The University of Szeged congratulated Professor Görög on the nomination, describing her career as one marked by dedication to academic excellence and the advancement of Hungarian legal studies.
