
Hungary | University of Szeged has revealed the winners of its 2026 press day initiative, recognizing the most popular articles chosen by readers over the past year.The competition featured 20 selected stories, including reports, interviews, and photo-based content, with votes collected both online and at a university exhibition. The top award went to a medical story about a young boy receiving one of the world’s first smart cochlear implants, which won in multiple categories.Other highlights included a feature on record-breaking academic travels taking second place and an interview with Macsai Pal ranking third. Journalist Levai Ferenc was recognized as the most successful contributor, while Balog Helga also gained strong reader support.The initiative showcased the importance of storytelling and visual journalism, with organizers confirming plans to continue the program in the future.
