Sweden | Researchers from Sweden Italy Ireland Ukraine and the United Kingdom gathered at Stockholm University for the workshop “Early Modern Nourishment: Eating Health and Knowledge in Europe 1500–1800.” The event examined how people in early modern Europe understood nutrition health and the effects of food on the human body. Discussions also focused on who controlled knowledge about food and how ideas about healthy bodies influenced society before the rise of modern public health systems.
